Our Herd
Meet Our Herd
Meet our Reins of Hope herd! No matter their size, we cherish them all. They’re the very essence of our program, and we’re deeply thankful for our amazing lesson horses.
Buttercup This is a 12-year-old buckskin Pony Cross, who originally worked as a cow pony. After being donated by the Grey Ranch, she has been part of the Reins of Hope program for four years and has become a treasured lesson horse. She excels with semi-independent riders, thanks to her natural ability to bond with each child, providing exactly what they need. |

Charlie Our 34-year-old bay Welsh Pony Cross, affectionately known as our “Wonder Pony,” is our most experienced lesson horse. Charlie is the go-to horse for beginner riders, thanks to his playful spirit and warm personality. He is a cherished member of our herd and an all-time favorite among our young riders. |
|
Major This 27-year-old bay Quarter Horse, who has also been generously donated by the Grey Ranch. He previously competed in the NFR and stood as a stallion at the Grey Ranch before finding a home at Reins of Hope. With his calm and loving personality, he is used for all our beginner riders, both young and old. He has truly been a gift to our program. |
|
Martini This 16-year-old grey Miniature Horse is a favorite among our riders. Since joining the program three years ago, she has been a valuable asset. Used primarily for ground lessons, her small size and calm demeanor make it easy for riders to warm up to her. |
|
Missy This 27-year-old bay Morgan Cross is not only a lesson horse but also a former hunter jump show horse. As the matriarch of the program, she brings her special ‘show’ personality into the therapeutic ring. Missy is commonly utilized for our more physically challenged riders due to her soft gait. Clients find solace in her beauty, making her a beloved presence in our program. |
|
MoMo Our 22-year-old chestnut Holsteiner Warmblood is a remarkable addition to Reins of Hope. Formerly a Grand Prix show horse, he has gracefully transitioned into his role as a lesson horse. Due to his impressive size, we primarily utilize him for our teenage and adult riders. We greatly appreciate his ability to empower our riders to become more independent through his responsiveness to cues. With his impeccable training, he instills confidence in our riders, allowing them to feel more successful with each session. |
|
Teacup Our 11-year-old Paint pony is adored by our riders for her special charm and playful personality. With her long mane and striking tri-colored coat, she captivates with her photogenic presence. She particularly shines during ground lessons, where she delights in receiving affection from our participants. |
Sharing is Caring
Sharing is caring, and we are immensely thankful for it! These horses, owned by boarders at our stables, are generously shared with our appreciative riders. We are truly grateful to have them as a part of our program.
Bombshell A former barrel racer, this 15-year-old lesson horse has gracefully transitioned into her role. We’re grateful to the Barlow family for sharing her with our program. Known affectionately as the ‘Beauty Queen’ of our barn, she charms everyone with her photogenic appearance and preppy personality. Our independent riders particularly benefit from her guidance, as she helps to refine their skills and transform them into better riders. She is truly a treasure to our program. |

June Introducing our stunning giant black beauty, a 3/4 Presian and 1/4 Friesian mix. Despite her imposing size, she possesses a gentle, lovable nature. We hold her dear to our hearts and extend our gratitude to Mrs. Marriner for generously sharing her with us. While adored by all our kids, she primarily serves teenagers and adults in our program. |

Patches Abandoned years ago, he found a loving home with the wonderful Brown family, who graciously share him with us. This 20-year-old paint horse embarked on a new career with us in 2022, and since then, he has thrived with independent riders and ground lessons. Patches has become a beloved member of our program, and we cherish him dearly. |
